I built HearthHR because small businesses deserve practical HR and operations help before everything becomes a crisis.
ABOUT HEARTHHR
Growing businesses hit a strange stage.
You are too big to keep running everything through memory, spreadsheets, workarounds, and whoever happens to know the answer.
But you may not need — or want — a large internal HR department.
That is where HearthHR comes in.
I help small businesses figure out what is actually going wrong behind the scenes, fix the problem, and build the systems and structure needed to make the business easier to run.
HOW I WORK
I work where people, systems, and operations meet.
My work has always lived in the overlap. Payroll connects to systems. Systems depend on processes. Processes depend on people understanding what to do and why.
That experience taught me something important: the problem someone brings you is not always the problem you end up solving.
A payroll issue may start with a broken workflow.
A manager issue may actually be a training or documentation gap.
An HRIS problem may have less to do with the software than with the way the process was designed in the first place.
I like finding that connection.
THE HEARTHHR STANDARD
Small businesses need expertise without unnecessary bureaucracy.
I do not believe the goal of HR is to make a small business feel like a giant corporation. The goal is to make the business work better.
Employees should know what to expect. Managers should know what to do. Payroll should be reliable. Important information should be documented.
Systems should make work easier instead of creating more work. And the owner should not have to personally hold every process together.
That is the kind of HR and operational infrastructure HearthHR is built to create.
I am not interested in recommending the biggest project, the fanciest system, or the longest engagement.
I am interested in figuring out what will actually help.
Sometimes that means building something new. Sometimes it means fixing what you already have.
Sometimes it is a handbook, manager training, payroll cleanup, HRIS configuration, documentation, automation, or a completely redesigned workflow.
The work is shaped around what your business actually needs — no more, no less.
Useful beats impressive.
HOW I THINK ABOUT THE WORK
No More
No Less
Just what your business needs.
Show me the spreadsheet that only makes sense to one person.
The HR system everyone complains about.
The onboarding checklist covered in handwritten additions.
The policy nobody follows.
The process that starts with:
“Okay, technically we’re supposed to…”
That is useful information.
Because once I understand how the work is really happening, I can help make it better.
You do not need to clean up the mess before you show me the mess.
SHOW ME THE REAL VERSION
THE GOAL
Leave the business easier to run.
Understand the problem.
Fix what is broken.
Build what is missing.
Make the work simpler.
Document what matters.
And create something your team can actually use when everyone is busy and real life is happening.
While you grow the business, we’ll tend the hearth.
Tell me what’s going on.
You do not need to know what service you need.
Tell me what feels messy, broken, frustrating, risky, inefficient, or harder than it should be.
We’ll start there.
